For developers and HA
Speaking your language: Faikin for developers and home automation
You don't need Home Assistant
Faikin speaks MQTT. Any platform that can talk MQTT can control your Daikin and read its live telemetry: setpoint, mode, fan speed, return air temperature, error codes and more. That includes:
- Home Assistant (native auto-discovery, the easiest path)
- openHAB
- Domoticz
- ioBroker
- Node-RED
- Jeedom
- FHEM
- Homey
- Hubitat
- Gladys Assistant
And if you run none of these, the built-in web interface gives you full control from any browser on your network. No cloud, no account, no subscription.
HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home
Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Home don't speak MQTT directly, but a bridge closes the gap. Homebridge with an MQTT plugin brings Faikin into the native iOS Home app, and Home Assistant bridges all three ecosystems. Ask us if you are not sure which route suits your setup.
Coming soon: the Faikin P1P2 module
Some Daikin units (mainly ducted, cassette and commercial systems) only speak P1P2, the wired-controller bus, and can't take a standard Faikin. A dedicated P1P2 module is on the way. Capabilities:
- Native HomeKit and Matter support, no bridge needed
- Home Assistant integration and MQTT
- Available in WiFi, Ethernet (LAN), RS485/Modbus and KNX versions, with galvanic isolation on the RS485 and KNX interfaces
- All interfaces run simultaneously, so you can mix, for example, KNX and MQTT
- Web interface, plus optional app control via Apple Home or Matter (no Faikin app needed)
- Powered directly from the indoor unit (under 1 W), no separate power supply
- Compact (43 x 43 x 20 mm), installs out of sight inside or beside the indoor unit
- Centralised management option: link many indoor units over RS485 or KNX and run a whole building from one system
- Versions also exist for other makes, including Daikin VRV, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi, Toshiba and York VRF systems
