affordable business solutions
Control multiple ACs with universal smart termostat
Faikin is a local climate control system designed for management, allowing saavy managers to oversee all of their in-room climate zones from a single screen. This zero-wiring, plug-and-play solution optimises guest comfort and slashes energy overhead without any operational disruption or installation downtime.

the challenges
5 reasons why air conditioning is hard to manage across many rooms
A site with a dozen indoor units has a dozen remotes, a dozen setpoints and nobody watching them. The usual fixes either cost a building management system or hand your units privacy and data to someone else's cloud.
Guests do climate their own way
Guests, tenants and staff leave AC units turned on in empty rooms, they set 16 degrees with the window open, and nobody knows until the bill arrives. We call it the run-it-flat-out-all-day behaviour.
One remote per unit
Every indoor unit has its own handset or wall controller. There is no single view of what is running, at what remote setting, and why. It's not possible for managers to check all rooms a check-out time.
Cloud controlled data add new problems
Accounts, per-unit subscriptions, outages and lag, and usage data that leaves your site. When the service changes or closes, the control goes with it. Data shipped offshore.
Electricity spikes
Let's face it, power never gets cheaper. You might hold a wholesale or time-of-use contract with your energy provider to stay ontop of spikes, but what if you don't? A total blind spot when it comes to efficiency.
AirBNB or short stay rental owners
You're only one person! The management of multiple properties takes up alot of time. Working out where guests are wasting your energy costs can be one step too far, and, you're not tech-saavy either.
The Faikin approach
Control stays onsite, with you
Each Faikin module talks directly to its indoor unit and to your own network. You decide what functions to control.
Every unit on your network
Each module has its own web page, and connects to Home Assistant or any MQTT system for a single dashboard across the site.
Works with the units you have
Plugs into the indoor unit's control port or the wired controller bus, discreetly inside the machine. Existing AC remotes and wall controllers keep working.
No cloud, no subscription
A one-off hardware cost. Everything runs locally, and remote access is through your own Home Assistant or VPN.
Lower running costs
Schedules, occupancy rules and, on supported models, demand control to cap how hard the unit works at peak times. Save up to 40% on energy costs.
How it works
3 easy steps to automation
Check compatibility
Send us the indoor unit model numbers, or look them up in the cable finder. We confirm the right module and cable for each unit you own.
Install
Power off at the isolator, then plug the module into the indoor unit's board or the wall controller terminals. Most units take only minutes.
Connect and automate
The module joins your WiFi and appears in Home Assistant or your MQTT system. Set schedules, limits and occupancy rules once, for every room. We can guide you.
learn from how we do it
Comfortable guests without paying for empty rooms
Faikin Australia was designed for the AirBNB holiday rental in our Canberra backyard, where guests left the air conditioning running flat-out for hours while away. Three key rules will immediately benefit your rental.
-
On for arrival, off at checkout
The unit starts before the guest arrives and switches off when they leave, without anyone touching a remote.
-
Set back when the room is empty
With an occupancy sensor, the unit eases off when nobody is in the room and stops when a window is left open.
-
Limits guests cannot override
Guests keep their remote. You set the temperature range and, on supported models, cap the unit's output during expensive periods.

Who we help
Built for the people who run the property
Stop paying for guests' habits
Automate arrival, departure and empty-room setbacks across one property or many, and see what every unit is doing from one screen.
Every room under one set of rules
Keep the existing split systems and add a module per room. Apply the same schedule and limits to every unit, and spot faults before guests do.
One view across the site
Ducted, VRV and split systems on the same dashboard. Read live status and error codes back from the units rather than guessing.
A clean add-on for your clients
Plug-in cables for each connector type, no extra wiring to the wall on most systems, and support from us on model questions.
Open, local and scriptable
MQTT with Home Assistant discovery, a local web interface on every module, and no vendor cloud between you and the equipment.
Features of Faikin
What features will I get?
A control page on every module
Power, mode, temperature, fan and swing from any phone or computer on your network, with no app and no login.
One dashboard for the whole site
Modules announce themselves to Home Assistant over MQTT, so every unit appears ready to use in dashboards and automations.
Voice and phone control where you want it
The Faikin Ninja Matter build works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings through a Matter hub.
Cap the unit at expensive times
On supported Faikout models you can limit the unit's maximum output, so it keeps the room reasonable while using less power during price peaks.
Measure where people actually are
Use a separate room sensor as the reference instead of the sensor inside the indoor unit.
Ducted zones as well as the unit
On supported Daikin zone systems the Ninja reports and switches individual zones alongside the indoor unit.
Product range
Which product is right for my business?
You need one module per indoor unit, and which depends on how the indoor unit is controlled. We check for you for perfect installation.

the Results
Examples of measurable changes
About 40% less energy per hour of run timeThe Canberra AirBNB holiday rental
Read the full story →We fitted a Faikin to the Daikin in our guest unit, then set arrival, departure and empty-room rules in Home Assistant. Measured over 2025.
Synchronising a dehumidify cycleThe Spanish student accommodation
We sold 100 Faikin Faikout module and cable kits to fit Daikin units installed into a student accommodation. The purpose was to reduce energy costs, but also to operate a dehumidifying cycle keeping air fresh and reducing risk of mould in the humid climate.
Energy efficiency reviewThe Melbourne boarding house
The 14-roomed boarding house put an end to tenant energy wastage by installing a Faikin Faikout module and cable kit to each unit. Management controlled all units from one central app called Home Assistant, enabling better efficiency and control.
Easy setup
Installation and compatibility
Most installs take minutes per unit with the power off at the isolator. There is mains voltage inside the indoor unit, so use a licensed technician or electrician if you are not comfortable working there.
-
Compatible equipment
Daikin split, cassette, floor, ducted, Sky Air and VRV units, Daikin Altherma heat pumps, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ducted and cassette units on the X-Y bus.
-
What you need
A 2.4 GHz WiFi network at the site. The Matter build also needs a Matter hub, such as an Apple TV, HomePod, Google Nest hub or Echo.
-
Things to check first
The wired controller bus carries two control devices, so we check what is already connected. A few older boards have no supported port, and we will tell you before you buy.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once for the hardware. There is no account, no per-unit fee and no cloud service to keep paying for.
Does it need the internet?
No. Each module runs on your local network. For control away from the site, use your own Home Assistant setup or a VPN.
Which air conditioners are compatible?
Most Daikin indoor units and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ducted and cassette units. Check your models in the cable finder, or send us the list and we will check them for you.
How many modules do I need?
Usually one per indoor unit. Some VRV systems group several indoor units under one controller, so send us the models and the controller layout and we will confirm the count.
Do you offer volume pricing?
Yes, for multi-unit sites. Tell us how many units you have and we will quote.
Who installs it?
You, your maintenance team or your air conditioning technician. Always isolate the power before opening the indoor unit.
Can guests or staff still use their remote?
Yes. Remotes and wall controllers keep working. Your automations then apply the limits and schedules you set.
What if it does not suit our site?
Our no-risk returns policy covers you.
Do you ship outside Australia?
Yes. We ship from Canberra worldwide. See our shipping policy.
