What is a Faikin?

A Faikin is a small WiFi electronic module that's compatible with most Daikin Air Conditioning units. When the smart controller 'module' is plugged in, it enables your smart phone or desktop computer to locally command and automate standard functions of the AC unit.


Compatibility

It's a perfect solution for Home Assistant enthusiasts where automation is the goal. A Faikin allows full local control over MQTT and it integrates natively with Home Assistant. Any platform supporting MQTT, such as openHAB, Node-RED and other open-source hubs, or bridges to MQTT devices - for example, via Homebridge, Google Home or Alexa integrations, can be used to control a Faikin.

Faikin for homeowners

It's a perfect solution if you want to remotely operate the 'on/off' and 'temperature' controls of the AC unit with your device, from wherever you are. A Faikin enables home automation systems, smart connectivity, WiFi, geofencing, outdoor temperature display and time-ready for daylight savings.

Short Term Rental and Hotel owners get control

Guest still maintain their primary control, but landlords save more electricity when they set a power limit for the unit's output before, during, or after a guest stay. STR owners can reduce power wastage because they have deeper oversight of how guests use power. A Faikin can synchronise an AC unit to the platform of a booking calendar (AirBNB). You can pre-warm or pre-cool accommodation based on the guests' time of arrival. Stop guests leaving AC units turned on after they check out, you can turn the AC off remotely.
